I will tell u what it means to be a lucky woman . As I happened to know how to stick needles in people's veins and pump the stopping hearts , cook pancakes , hold a paddle and wear the pink helmet some man do remember me and when they need a tender hug they call me up ...
Minibar and his friend Tom Holoman had discovered this river 4 potential rafting operation 3, 5 years ago. As they only had themselves , a jeep , a kayak and a description of 1 piece of river in German 4 the inspiration , they threw a coin to clear things up so that 1 of them was kayaking alone 1st descent a river part while another one was driving threw the woods to find the access to the river bank to meet the partner...the rule of river safety "never go alone" had dissolved there and then in Zamanti waters - as a very close friend saves u even when he cant see or hear u , that's because he senses u :))) . The moral is - never try it unless u are Minibar and Tom and because the Zamanti is already discovered 4 you by those river frogs. So - gei - GOP and alleluia flight to most closely geographics available !!!
Zamanti , as we managed to figer out translation means - under the time- and surely it was 4 me. Within 5 days this river rolled on changing from a technical low volume with creaky bits into superior high volume hydro construction , giving me fleshes of paddling memories from all my past river traveling experience in Scotland , France - Italy , Kenya , Mexico , Russia and the sweetest Jordan river . The river is runable threw the whole summer, the water levels depend as well on the 2 turbines and can get extremely and scary high unless u know to check with turbine people in prior, speak Turkish, sell a goat, buy a sheep, have Turkish tea and then u can be sure...what I mean is-if u want to run Zamanti u do need Minibar or at least his consultation:). what's to me as I prefer him giggling from the front raft at me because I like safety , tender company , Frisbee on a beach and cold watermelons - god knows where he gets them from along the whole 5 days .
I d like to give a credit here to a dear friend of mine - Ivan Baltaga , who kayaked Zamanti on this trip accompanied by Tom Holoman , he did amazingly superb , it was his 1st river after Jordan and Jordan is a great preparation to any other river-if u can paddle Jordan-u adjust to paddle anything:). He was alert, awear, concentrated, careful, honest with his abilities, comprehending the river and breathing deep, great attitudes and river sense-the kind of a paddler mate I wish to everybody, a rare kingfisher; with Tom - old frog and Minibar - the river bug I felt quite a waterkengooru myself :))) happy - happy - under the time - authentic journey deep into my soul - tabula rasa ....
